The handout for the Character Analysis project can be downloaded here. It contains the project requirements, the sample I demonstrated in class, and a photo of the objective and character list I posted in class. The project is due on Friday, January 13.
In case you lose it, forget it, or just love it so much you need another copy...here you go! =)
For tomorrow's test, you should study your character list and go over your chapter summaries.
Also, we will work on the take home essay questions more in class today, and final drafts are due at the beginning of class tomorrow.
In class today you will receive a copy of the take home essay questions, and I will go over the format you should use for your response. We will work on them in class on Monday, and you will be able to do any last minute editing/revising for homework. I'll collect your final drafts at the beginning of class on Tuesday before we take the matching/multiple choice portion of the test.
We'll read chapters 8-11 this week, and that will complete Part 1 of the book. I'm also including my comprehension notes from the entire Part 1 so that you will have access to them to study for the upcoming test.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Our goal is to read through chapter 8 by the end of the week. The study guide, calendar (blank - will be updated in class), and comprehension notes handout are available here.
I hope you are all enjoying your break, and I hope you are all surrounded by family and friends and lots of food! =D Happy Thanksgiving...see you Monday!
During today's activity, I took several photos of people working in groups and of the work people completed together. Don't be surprised if you see a picture of yourself or your work on the classroom wall! Thanks for your effort and enthusiasm during the work session. Good job!
Today and tomorrow we will be working in pairs, trios, or small groups of four to collaborate over our significant moments and chart our best work. On Tuesday, 11/22/11, we will have a gallery walk in class, and each student will write a reflection about his/her observations.
The 1st question is repetition of the character chart we're recording in another handout, so skip it and answer the rest of the questions.
